Dreaming is such fun. Wish List, continued...

I would like to open a hole in the wall restaurant named 'The Soup Kitchen' where I could make soups every day & hopefully people will stop by & pay to eat it as opposed to the leftovers inhabiting my refrigerator.

Wish List

I would like to take my kids for a car trip around North America. Perhaps one year when they are both old enough to appreciate such a thing, I will leave from the week with my family in Maine & head for Adri's in Hamilton, Ontario. From there, I'd swing through Niagara Falls again on my way to Jody's in Pennsylvania. While I'm there, we'll have to check out the Amish. Then head west to the big city of Chicago & visit Linda. Then further west to Menomonee Falls, WI to see Mellie. Then west or south? Mt. Rushmore is out there...Laura Ingalls Wilder stuff is out there - that will be a MUST because the girls will be old enough to have read the stories. I guess we'll kinda zigzag across the way. Then a big zig north back into Canada, to Calgary to visit my friend Karen. We'll start south to end up in Vancouver, Washington to visit w/Jilly. Onward south to see Sandy in California. Back east w/a stop in Houston to see Briddy. Can I get away with visiting Kathy in Florida without stopping in Orlando? Maybe she'll be in N.C. by then. ;) We must stop in D.C & the historic areas of Viginia. And I need to be back in time for them to start school, lol. Motel 6 all the way, baby. Diner food & picnics. I can't WAIT.

The NEW Food Pyramid.

Well, it's an effort. One comment I read was something to the effect of, "it's good but is anyone going to pay attention?" If you didn't before, why would you now? Hop on over to GOOGLE , my friends & type in 'new food pyramid'. Bunches of articles. What do they want us to do...? OMG, 60 - 90 minutes of exercise EVERY DAY? AND shower? I AM making an effort to consume *9* servings of fruit & vegetables every day. I'm counting potatoes & corn which I'd previously tossed into the Atkin's carb bin. Now they need to count as vegetation. It's not easy getting 9 servings in every day. You try it & let me know any secrets. ;) My doctor cited a study where people who consumed 3 servings of lowfat dairy lost more weight. Don't tell my friends who subscribe to notmilk.com ! Does ice cream count? I GET the whole grains thing & can do that easily. Well, easily-ish. Hubby still longs for Atkins friendly meals. I like beans & grains - cheap, easy & filling. Fiber-icious. I'm rambling on about this because my doctor has made the following recomendations pending the results of my bloodwork: 60 - 90 mins exercise, 3 servings lowfat dairy, 9 servings fruit & veggies, & Weight Watchers. What a good Dr. to follow the USDA's advice. *sigh* I've failed at WW at least twice. I am NOT feeling optimistic about this bloodwork. My cholesterol has always been high. I doubt it's improved since my last checkup 2 yrs. ago. I need to drop at least 30 lbs, 40 would be ideal. My BMI is horrific. And I'm a slightly paranoid hypochondriac. Which is why I avoid the doctors. Except my neurologist - I visit him without fail & touch my finger to my nose. And get my refills. Enough gibberish. Have a great day everyone & stay healthy. ;)
