Boczek Pieczony

I am unable to use my recipe page at zoomshare, so here I am. Dumb computer.

Roast Bacon

Scald 1 1/2lb piece of slab bacon w/boiling water & cook 20 min. Transfer to a baking dish (can place on a rack). Sprinkle all over w/marjoram, paprika, pepper & caraway. Rub w/2-3 buds of crushed garlic, top with onion slices & bake in a 350F oven for 1 - 1/2 hours until fork tender. At start of baking, sprinkle with water & baste occasionally. Slice & serve.

I'm wondering if this truly is an authentic Polish recipe. I'm making it tonight & hope it's as yummy as it sounds!

Starbucks wisdom

Have you ever read your Starbucks cup? I happened to notice this wonderfully insightful quote on the side of my cup:

The Way I See It #17:
The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you're not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don't take it personally when they say "no"- they may not be smart enough to say "yes."
--Keith Olbermann, Broadcast Journalist & host of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

I am my own worst enemy. Are you? Have a great day everybody!

Happy Birthday to me

Pfffth.
If my birthday is any indication of what it's like to be 38, it's gonna be a verrrryyyyy long year. Thank God for my children. Sweet innocent creatures. Love 'em.

Doctors

I see a new neurologist (the old one is FINE - this on has a nerve conduction contraption) about my arm which keeps going numb. My guess is they'll tell me I'm a hypochondriac & here's nothing physically wrong with me - they can find no reason for this to happen. Or they'll find a huge tumor or something equally as ugly that comes with a death sentence. Nervous? Me?

Tomorrow, I go back to my regular doc as a follow up to my bloodwork. Cholesterol. FATFATFAT. My lovely 5'5" (did I remember correctly?) who thinks 135 is heavy should be SMACKED - HARD. Try 5'2" & 170, honey. My cholesterol has always been high but as I get older it's warranting more concern. Nervous? Me??

*sigh* Back to the daily drivel......
