Well, it's an effort. One comment I read was something to the effect of, "it's good but is anyone going to pay attention?" If you didn't before, why would you now? Hop on over to
GOOGLE , my friends & type in 'new food pyramid'. Bunches of articles. What do they want us to do...? OMG, 60 - 90 minutes of exercise EVERY DAY? AND shower? I AM making an effort to consume *9* servings of fruit & vegetables every day. I'm counting potatoes & corn which I'd previously tossed into the Atkin's carb bin. Now they need to count as vegetation. It's not easy getting 9 servings in every day. You try it & let me know any secrets. ;) My doctor cited a study where people who consumed 3 servings of lowfat dairy lost more weight. Don't tell my friends who subscribe to
notmilk.com ! Does ice cream count? I GET the whole grains thing & can do that easily. Well, easily-ish. Hubby still longs for Atkins friendly meals. I like beans & grains - cheap, easy & filling. Fiber-icious. I'm rambling on about this because my doctor has made the following recomendations pending the results of my bloodwork: 60 - 90 mins exercise, 3 servings lowfat dairy, 9 servings fruit & veggies, & Weight Watchers. What a good Dr. to follow the USDA's advice. *sigh* I've failed at WW at least twice. I am NOT feeling optimistic about this bloodwork. My cholesterol has always been high. I doubt it's improved since my last checkup 2 yrs. ago. I need to drop at least 30 lbs, 40 would be ideal. My
BMI is horrific. And I'm a slightly paranoid hypochondriac. Which is why I avoid the doctors. Except my neurologist - I visit him without fail & touch my finger to my nose. And get my refills. Enough gibberish. Have a great day everyone & stay healthy. ;)
