The Bowerbank Song

Ohhhhh, we wear our silk pajammies in the summer when it's hot,
we wear our flannel jammies in the winter when it's not.
And sometimes in the springtime & sometime in the fall,
we jump right in between the sheets with nothing on at all!

That's the way we do it in Bowerbank,
That's the way we do it in Bowerbank,
That's the way we do it in Bowerbank,
WITH NOTH-ING ON AT ALLLLL!!!

Bringing in Europe

1. Tintin takes out nice gentlemen...

2. Nice gentlemen unhook Europe...

3. nice gentlemen drag Europe to the boathouse & tie in corner where the ice don't freeze.

Kiwanians & their BIG ideas while fixing Mom's treasured wooden bowl from Turkey that I dropped & broke. (BIG WOOPS)

Labor Day weekend...

12. My good friend, Bambi!

13. Yeah! We rule! We did it!! Phew is more like it, though.

14. The work crew: our closest New England Kiwanian friends. A bunch of the finest people you'd ever want to know.

15. For our afternoon refreshment, the kids set up a lemonade & snack stand to sell us our stuff. Ambitious sort, they are.

THE WENCH

The sytem that Dad set up for dock removal is amazing. He has a motor attached to a thick wire that is hooked onto a flatbed train car. There are train tracks going from the motor into the water. 1st lower the car into the water. Then you steer the dock centered over the tracks & car. When the dock is centered, flip the switch & the motor starts reeling in the wire/car & when it gets far enough up, the float is sitting on the railcar being pulled out of the water. Fricken GENIOUS. And he has 'sputnik' (not sure what it actually is - some kind of motorized thingy) out in the water running always so that the water around the tracks doesn't freeze & warp the tracks. There are 2 cars & for the 1st dock, it needs to be let out enough to put that dock on so when the 2nd dock comes out, the 2nd car is available for loading.

So, thanks to Sputnik, the water around the front of camp doesn't freeze which is nice & easy on the boathouse not to have ice jamming it up & we can pull Europe (the float w/the slide) into the corner by the boathouse & it won't be reduced to splinters.

Nifty, eh?

POLE CATS in action!

6. pole cats concentrating

7. careful steering - please notice the thick wire being held by the fine gentleman at the far right of the pic.

8. we are attached! thank goodness there is no wind.
