Alright already!!!
I believe in God. Yep, He/She/It is out there & looking after me. And I appreciate that. And I'm not even being sarcastic which I'm sure most people reading this are thinking. Here's why:
DH didn't remove the a/c last weekend. The temperature dropped to..ohhh....30ish. BIG DRAFT SUCKS. So, I do what any self sufficient bitch does & I remove the damn - I mean darn - thing myself. Man oh man is it heavy. But first.... there's the little shelvy thing holding the DVD player, cable box, etc that needs to be moved. No biggie - heavy but manageable. The problem is the fucking wires behind the shelves & TV. Oh My Golly. How many times has dh commented on how he needs to straighten them out??? Let me count the times...woops, ran out of fingers & toes. So, while I'm wrestling w/the shelvy thing, my favorite lamp topples over the backside. DAMN. DARN, I mean. The lightbulb, OMG, THANK YOU, did *not* shatter. But it isn't working. I figure something is loose so I fiddle with it - nope. I figure it's dead & go get a flashlight. After the rockin' Halloween party, finding a functional flashlight was a chore & a half. I swiped the one Rebecca keeps by her bed for after hour reading; God bless that sweet child's soul. Set the lamp aside, pull the thing out, wrench out the a/c. I now need a massage to get my back unkinked but it's done & the livingroom is significantly warmer. BUT all those stupid wires are messed up, some are dangling & the TV has no picture. So I settle in to figure out wtf. 1 speaker has no wires but I don't see how they go in so TOO BAD. I found 2 wires coming from the back of the TV that dangle - hmmmm....likely culprits doncha think? 1 doesn't fit anywhere!!!?? WHATEVER. The other, I stuff into every available hole/port/space in back of the box that is for all the wires for all the AV stuff until I have a picture!! Wooowooowooo I fixed the TV, I fixed the TV!!!
Back to my miracle & why I believe in God....I resume trying to mend my lamp. I suddenly wonder if the bulb is broken but it just didn't shatter like most broken bulbs. On a chance, I get a new bulb & voila!!! IT WORKS!!! OMG!!! If that bulb had shattered as it *should* have - what an unholy, ungodly, unbelievable disastrous MESS that would have been. I sat there almost in tears at my good fortune, thanking God repeatedly. Yes, ME.

LOL what a chain of events. Did you manage to get the A/C out? I hate doing that. I left the family room one in all last winter.
